People who never typed their name started finding Nubian Markets.
Nubian Markets is a halal market, butcher and café at 2565 Washington Street in Roxbury, Boston. Between June 13 and July 10, 2026, 40 people clicked through to them from a Google search that did not include their name. Between September 5 and October 2, 2026, it was 83, and Google showed them 3.1 times as often.

Can a halal market get found by people who do not already know its name?
For Nubian Markets, yes, and it rose every month. Our first case study for them, in July, said plainly that we had not yet proven we could bring them people who had never heard of them: almost all of their clicks were from people searching their name. Four months later, searches that never mention them send twice as many people, Google shows them three times as often, and their average spot on those searches moved from page two to page one.

What changed
What made Google show Nubian Markets to more new people?
Most of the added reach came from one guide: 9,216 of the 10,415 extra impressions, and 17 of the 43 extra clicks. On July 24, 2026 Honey Bridge published What Is Zabiha Halal? A Halal Butcher’s Guide on their site, written from their own butcher counter. Between September 5 and October 2, 2026, Google showed it 9,216 times, at an average spot of 6.3, for searches like “zabiha halal” and “zabiha”. In June the site drew no zabiha searches at all.
The rest of the site grew too. Take every zabiha search out and clicks from searches without their name still went from 40 to 66, and the share of people who clicked rose from 0.8% to 1.1%. “halal meat boston” alone went from 89 impressions to 369.

What we did, in order
2026-07-07. Rewrote the titles and the descriptions Google prints under each page, gave every page a real headline, corrected the address, and added structured data naming the shop as a grocery store and restaurant.
2026-07-24. Published a guide to what zabiha halal means, written from the butcher counter, under a real author byline.
2026-08-13. Rewrote that guide’s search title to answer the question people were typing: why not all halal meat is zabiha.
2026-09-17. Linked the halal butchery page from the site navigation and from the body of another page.
What this page does not prove
Four things a careful reader should hold against these numbers.
The guide is seen far more than it is clicked. 17 clicks from 9,216 impressions. Most people searching what zabiha means get their answer and move on. The reach is real; most of it is not yet customers.
Part of the jump in average spot is the guide itself, because it ranks well and carries most of the impressions. Without zabiha searches, the average spot moved from 14.9 to 11.5, a smaller gain.
June and September are different months, and there is no control group. Search Console only holds this site’s data from June 8, 2026, so there is no earlier baseline. Nuba Cafe opened on August 19, 2026. We removed its searches and its page. We cannot remove any general rise in how well the owners are known, and its page removed.
83 clicks in 28 days is about three a day. Three times a small number is still a small number. It is the direction, four 28-day windows running, that we are reporting.
